In the spring of 2005 our peahen disappeared for a few weeks. We would occasionally see her rushing to our feeding station then quickly going back into the woods. Then one day she came strutting up the driveway with 5 little peachicks behind her. Three of those little chicks have survived, one young peacock and two young peahens, and they have grown to full size. They are ready to leave home even though they won't be fully mature for some time to come. Our peachicks have never been caged, so it will be an adventure to lure them into a cage for transport. We think we can do it if we find someone interested in them. There is a picture of the peahen and the 3 peachicks on the Farm Birds page. Prices are negotiable, offers will be considered. |
